Senior Attorney Needed

 

 

The Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities, Inc. is a statewide, not-for-profit corporation, designated as the protection and advocacy system for Floridians with disabilities.  We currently have an opening for a Senior Attorney in our Tallahassee office. 

The Senior Attorney is responsible for representation in all Florida state and federal courts as well as in administrative proceedings.  Duties would include handling a substantial caseload through all stages of litigation,  including case evaluation,  legal research,  preparing pleadings and briefs, conducting discovery, motion practice and presentation of a case through evidentiary hearings, mediation, trial or appeals.   Knowledge of rule promulgation, legislative bill analysis, public benefits, and state and federal laws relating to civil rights and other related public interest law, is preferred. The senior attorney functions as part of the Advocacy Center’s legal team and routinely assists or mentors other staff attorneys, and works cooperatively with advocates and community partners.  Must be a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and have significant current experience in court practice and procedure.   Apply online, or mail resume and cover letter to the Human Resources Director, Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities, Inc., 2728 Centerview Drive, Suite 102, Tallahassee, FL  32301.  Outstanding benefits package to include 401k.  EOE, DFWP.
